To check YouTube monetization by country, start with the official YouTube Partner Program availability list, then check the expanded YPP list and the specific earning feature you intend to use. A country being supported for YPP does not establish that every feature is available to your channel, that your payment setup is complete, or that viewers there generate a particular income.

Keep four locations separate: where you live, where your channel is based, the country of your AdSense payment address, and where your viewers watch. This guide gives you a repeatable country check rather than an earnings ranking.

Check two country lists before planning your revenue

YouTube's YPP eligibility overview requires applicants to live in a supported country or region. Use its official YPP availability list for that check. Then consult the expanded YPP overview and country list separately.

The expanded route offers earlier access to eligible fan-funding and Shopping features. At this review date, it requires 500 subscribers, three public uploads in 90 days, and either 3,000 qualified watch hours in 12 months or 3 million qualified Shorts views in 90 days. It is not the advertising-revenue tier.

Illustrative country comparison checked October 13, 2026 against the two official lists linked above. This is not a complete list or an account approval. Recheck the current sources and Studio before applying.

The Pakistan example shows why one list is insufficient: broader YPP availability and earlier-entry availability are different questions. If your country is absent from the expanded list, do not assume that YPP itself is unavailable. If it is absent from the main list, do not substitute a different country to force an application.

Confirm the feature you actually need in Studio

Open the correct channel in YouTube Studio and select Earn. Record its eligibility counters, application status and available feature cards. YouTube's earning-feature guide distinguishes Watch Page Ads, Shorts Feed Ads, memberships, Supers and Shopping; each has its own requirements and relevant contract modules.

For the advertising and YouTube Premium route at this review date, the YPP overview lists 1,000 subscribers plus either 4,000 qualified watch hours in 12 months or 10 million qualified Shorts views in 90 days. Reaching a threshold still requires channel review. YouTube has announced program updates from February 1, 2027, so check the dated official notice before planning an application for that period.

Use our YouTube application checklist for qualifying progress and content evidence. Here, the decision is narrower: is the intended feature available for this channel in this market now? Do not budget membership income merely because the country appears on a general YPP list.

Keep payment country separate from viewer country

Your audience can be international while your payment profile remains tied to your actual payment address. Google says you cannot change the country of an AdSense payment address. For a genuine move, its documented route involves closing the existing account and creating a new one; follow the account-specific instructions before making changes. AdSense account ownership is not transferable.

Changing channel settings does not perform that payment migration. Keep the payee, address and requested verification records accurate. Our AdSense association guide covers linking through Studio and avoiding duplicate accounts. Local tax registration and reporting are separate decisions; a country list does not determine them.

Read exceptions as well as lists. YouTube's monetization policies currently state that channels linked to Russia-based AdSense for YouTube accounts cannot monetize, that creators in Russia cannot complete new YPP sign-ups, and that several fan-funding features are paused for viewers in Russia. Creator location, payment-account location and viewer location affect different parts of the process.

Use a six-step country evidence record

This is our planning worksheet. Save a dated result and a next action for each checkpoint; leave an unknown unresolved rather than marking it approved.

  1. Residence and channel base: Record the real locations and whether a move or handover needs investigation.
  2. Main YPP list: Save the official source and the country result.
  3. Expanded list: Record whether earlier entry is listed separately.
  4. Intended feature: Check its official requirements and the channel's current Earn card.
  5. Payment setup: Confirm the correct payee and payment country; record any outstanding verification without copying sensitive identifiers into the worksheet.
  6. Audience evidence: Review actual viewer geography and revenue over a consistent period before forecasting.

Hypothetical example: A creator living in Greece produces English software tutorials for viewers in several countries. Greece appears on both entry lists, but the creator still records the channel's Earn status and checks the planned feature. A US-heavy audience is a content and analytics observation; it is not a reason to enter a US payment address. The next action might be completing payment verification, not changing a country setting.

Compare audience results without inventing country payouts

YouTube's revenue analytics guide distinguishes advertiser CPM from creator RPM. CPM measures advertiser spending per 1,000 ad impressions before revenue sharing; RPM reflects reported creator revenue after YouTube's share per 1,000 views, with engaged views used for Shorts. They are not interchangeable country prices.

Compare the same date range and format, then review viewer geography, views, revenue and production cost where the account supplies those metrics. If a country breakdown is unavailable, mark it unknown. A public rate table cannot establish what your next upload will earn.

If you are evaluating an existing channel, inspect its current feature access, audience evidence and payment requirements. The MonetizedProfiles YouTube account listing and account catalogue describe available options, but a listing or historical approval does not replace those country and payout checks.

Common country questions

Does an English-language channel need a US payment profile?

No. Content language and audience geography are different from your real residence and payment setup. Use truthful information and verify the applicable program and account requirements.

Does “listed” mean every monetization feature is enabled?

No. It establishes a country-list result only. Check the channel, feature conditions and relevant module in Studio separately.

What if an official list and my Earn tab appear inconsistent?

Save the source URL, check date and the notice shown by the correct channel. Recheck the feature-specific guidance and use YouTube's support route for the discrepancy. Do not repeatedly create accounts or change countries to make a missing option appear.
